Living your Maximum Life is about motivation, maximum performance and a balanced lifestyle, but more importantly, there is a recognition that every person is unique, and a pioneer of their own life path.

My aim is to help readers define their Life Footprint and start living a Purpose Driven life. This means taking hold of the steering wheel and Living Deliberately. One warning though - Reading these essays could be life changing!

More About Me

Daryl Bredenkamp
I was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on 15 June 1965, but grew up in Benoni on the East Rand - Yes, the same town where Charlise Theron hails from. It was at Helpmekaar Boys High where I developed a love for public speaking, as I could not take part in sport activities due to back problems, and consequently immersed myself in cultural activities. This also taught me that there is more to life than the stereotypical view of success, and that fulfillment can be gained on more than one front.

I spent a total of 4 years in the South African Defence Force, and was employed as SO2 (staff officer 2nd in command of training) at a training base in Messina at the time of resigning. This set the stage for the rest of my employment to date, and apart from a short stint as an Estate Agent, I have spent the rest of my career in various Security; Safety, Health and Environment and related positions, although my exposure in the industry ranges from Personnel and Training, Administration, Operational and Proprietary as well as Contracted positions.

I consider my highest educational qualification -as someone once put it- a degree of excellence in the business of living at the University of Hard Knocks! I am also however an avid student of some of the top minds of our time in this regard, and have read and applied the collected wisdom of such authors as Tony Buzan, Steven Covey, Edward de Bono, Anthony Robbins, Robert Kyosaki, and many others. I delight in sharing my learnings with others both in and outside the work environment.

It is because of this that I am most proud of my role as a leader and helping to develop subordinates, family, friends, acquaintances and my two children. I have seen many of them grow both personally and professionally over the years, and it is because of their remarks, thanking me for the contribution this had made in their lives, that I realised how seldom people engage in sharing with others what they have learned, or coach others.

Even parents mostly expect their children to gain their wisdom almost by default. The realisation that there is dire need for a collection of basic day-to-day knowledge and street smarts has inspired me to share what others have found helpful with a wider audience. I hope to invoke deeper thinking on these subjects and share a journey of learning and development with my audience. I appreciate feedback and enjoy engaging in conversations about similar or divergent experience and views.

I hope that you find the articles useful and have as much fun reading as I have writing them.
